I Develop My Art Making Skills
For this project we were told to create a city in perspective. We needed to create the city with a different theme than just buildings and streets. I decided to do an underwater city. The reason I decided to do an underwater city was that I thought it would be cool. I have already done art with perspective when in 8th grade as an extra project. Me and a friend drew city blocks in two point perspective. Although I had some experience I almost completely forgot about perspective so it was helpful to learn it again. I haven't used colored pencils in actual art work in a while so it was fun and interesting using them again.
I Solve Problems
The idea of what I was going to do sounded great in my head, but once I actually drew it out I was thinking this might not work. The alignment and style of the city just seemed off. I tried fixing it by adding more buildings and different ideas. I guess it was the fact that I didn't plan it out fully before I started my work because it was a very strange thing. I was working on it one day and I just thought, "What am I doing? This isn't going to work." I tried to work around it and managed to make it turn out better than I expected. I should've added more buildings in the background though because it kind of just looks like 5 buildings lined up on a city block.
I Reflect
The idea of an underwater city seemed really cool so I decided to do that for my project. I had done all of my thumbnails and decided to jump right into the final. When I got to drawing the final I had no clue what I was drawing. I never stepped back and observed my city. It just didn't look like I imagined it in my head. I had to make a lot of corrections in my final. It turned out alright in the end but I forgot to add more buildings behind the ones in front. Overall I wasn't too pleased with my drawing but it turned out fine.
