I Create Original Art
For my landscape painting I based it on a picture of Puerto Rico that my mom took on a work trip. At first I thought that the landscape would be pretty hard but once I got into it it seemed a lot easier. I did almost paint the landscape exactly like the picture but I added some of my own ideas into it like new clouds and water lines. For the clouds I added a technique that I wouldn't say I created, but it was my own based off of my knowledge. I also added some variety of color and shades into the ocean of my painting.
I Developed My Art Making Skills
During my landscape painting I was a little disappointed at how it looked. It wasn't much like the picture but as I went on it looked better and better. I tried a new style of creating clouds rather than dotting them in different directions. I used kind of a circular pattern for the clouds to give them depth and more texture. I hadn't painted in a very long time before this project and I guess I was kind of rusty. I remember being pretty good at painting before now but I wasn't sure once I started up again.
I Reflect
When I was painting I observed my artwork but not as much as I should've I guess. I didn't step back and observe my art but I did take a look at it now and then and try to see what would work and what wouldn't or what colors I should do and what I should stay away from. I would say that I tried to see if different things would work before I tried them but I mostly just dived right into it. It turned out good in the end, luckily, but I guess it would've been better if I took a second to think about what I was doing first.
